Barack The Destroyer: Read All About It

Encounter Books is offering a series of Broadsides written by some of America's most authoritative conservative commentators, each chronicling the ways in which President Obama is wreaking havoc on the economy, electoral system, national security, health care and foreign policy vis Israel:
Uniting an 18th-century sense of political urgency and rhetorical wit (think The Federalist Papers, Common Sense) with 21st-century technology and channels of distribution, Encounter Broadsides offer indispensable ammunition for intelligent debate on the critical issues of our time. Written with passion by some of our most authoritative authors, Encounter Broadsides make the case for liberty and the institutions of democratic capitalism at a time when they are under siege from the resurgence of collectivist sentiment. Read them in a sitting and come away knowing the best we can hope for and the worst we must fear. The best defense is a good Broadside.
The titles include:
How Barack Obama Is Bankrupting The U.S. Economy by Stephen Moore
How The Obama Administration Threatens To Undermine Our Elections by John Fund
Obama's Betrayal Of Israel by Michael Ledeen
Why Obama's Government Takeover Of Health Care Will Be A Disaster by David Gratzer
How The Obama Administration Threatens Our National Security by Victor Davis Hanson

Anyone with the slightest intellectual honesty and curiosity will appreciate these reasoned arguments; idiots, on the other hand, will dismiss them out of fear and continue to worship The One and their pseudo-religion of "progressivism".

Bonus: Scott Johnson comments on these books and the roots of political pamphleteering at Power Line.

Finally, Nancy Pelosi Talks Sense

Just kidding:
We have to shed any weakness that anybody may have about not wanting to be confrontational on this subject for fear that we'd be labeled not sensitive to the deficit.

The Left's Wilding Of Sarah Palin

At American Thinker a former liberal addresses the "virtuous" left's viciously sexist attacks on Sarah Palin:
I finally beheld what my eyes had refused to see: that leftists are Mr. and Ms. Misogyny. Neither the males nor the females care a whit about women.

Women are continually sacrificed on the altar of political correctness. If under radical Islam women are enshrouded and stoned and beheaded, so be it.

My other epiphanies: those ponytailed guys were marching for abortion rights not because they cherished women's reproductive freedom, but to keep women available for free and easy sex.

And the eagerness for women to make good money? If women work hard, leftist men don't have to.

Then along came Sarah, and the attacks became particularly heinous. And I realized something even more chilling about the Left. Leftists not only sacrifice and disrespect women, but it's far worse: many are perpetuators.

The Left's behavior towards Palin is not politics as usual. By their laser-focus on her body and her sexuality, leftists are defiling her.

They are wilding her. And they do this with the full knowledge and complicity of the White House.

The Left has declared war on Palin because she threatens their existence. Liberals need women dependent and scared so that women, like blacks, will vote Democrat.

A strong, self-sufficient woman, Palin eschews liberal protection. Drop her off in the Alaskan bush and she'll survive just fine, thank you very much. Palin doesn't need or want anything from liberals -- not hate crimes legislation that coddles her, and not abortion, which she abhors.

Palin is a woman of deep and abiding faith. She takes no marching orders from messiah-like wannabes like Obama.

And so the Left must try to destroy her. And they are doing this in the most malicious of ways: by symbolically raping her.

Red Flags, Leftist Idiots And The Global Warming Scam

Talk of "red flags" abounded after the Islamist terrorist masquerading as an Army psychologist murdered thirteen soldiers and an unborn baby at Fort Hood. Now the "red flag" concept has carried over into the exposure of global warming alarmists masquerading as scientists. In both cases, an alarming rash of danger signs was at best played down and at worst completely ignored.

An NRO reader arrives at the root issue in an e-mail to Jonah Goldberg about the global warming scandal, in which he enumerates the tactics of the Warmongers. It amounts to a breakdown of the leftist idiot playbook:

(1) Consistent use of ad hominem attacks toward those challenging their positions.

(2) Refusal to make data public.

(3) Refusal to engage in discussions of the actual science, on the assumption that it is too complicated for others to understand.

(4) Challenging the credentials of those challenging the consensus position.

(5) Refusal to make public the computer code being used to analyze the data.
Here is an axiom: idiots will lie, filibuster and scream (Hello, Ed Begley Jr.) to advance their ideology because they know it doesn't stand a chance in the honest marketplace of ideas in American politics; it requires the protective shield of a monumental crisis behind which to hide, and global warming certainly fills that bill. Or at least it did until now.

Because now it is all coming apart at its very seams.

The old media have the biggest story of this young century right in front of them and they are studiously ignoring it because they are a central part of the story, working slavishly to propagate the global warming lie.

Meanwhile, the New York Times continues to bleed readership and the LA Times is laying off 40-some employees. For now.

So how's that studious ignorance going for them these days?

The Navy SEAL Thing

UPDATED
What an abomination. The Navy SEALs who caught the evil bastard responsible for the 2004 Fallujah bridge massacre are facing court marshall for allegedly splitting the evil bastard's lip.

Here's a photo of the evil bastard's handiwork. Idiots call this "porn" because they hate facing its stark reflection of the wages of their ideology. I call it a moment in history that clearly defined the moral chasm between dirtbags like Kos and his devoted fans who hate America and their fellow Americans who defend their right to do so.

I've gotten major flack for observing in reference to the above scene that no-one does desecration like a street full of angry Arabs. Obviously, I was wrong, and I apologize without reservation. For as the above photo attests, the Sunni Arab children dancing beneath the charred body of an American contractor hanging from the bridge to Fallujah are anything but angry; indeed, they are obviously filled with joy.

My apologies for not being perfectly clear on that.

UPDATE
According to a Rush Limbaugh caller today (scroll to the second caller), this is payback to the SEALs for breaking the ROE in the Mersk rescue mission. If so, it lines up perfectly with General Casey's statement after the Fort Hood massacre that "diversity" is more important than the lives of his troops.

S. E. Cupp: Sarah Palin For idiots

The hot and hotly intellectual S. E. Cupp is feelin' Sarah Palin these days, as are scads of Americans flocking to her book signings. Idiots hate Palin and they hate the fact that she has yet another monster conservative bestseller. Can't stand her celebrity and don't understand her power.

Good. We don't want the left to understand. That way we win and they lose.

In Palin 101 the divine Ms. Cupp writes
A radio host asked me recently if the perception that she is more "human interest story than person-of-action" will harm her in the long run. The fact is, there is no one on the planet more "human interest story than person-of-action" than our current president, who penned his terribly self-satisfied autobiography at the ripe old age of 43, while a mere state legislator.

But we don't see the liberal press fretting over President Obama's penchant for self-promotion. They coo when he goes on Letterman to talk about all the cool stuff that happens when you're president -- during a recession and a war. And they applaud his Nobel Peace Prize, for which he was nominated after just 12 days in office. And they rally around his embarrassing Olympic bid, which actually argued that the IOC should choose Chicago so that he and Michelle could stop and see the fam while in their old neighborhood. Obama's "me, me, me, me, me, me, me" aria is fine. But Palin's plain speaking and honest stab at defending herself against her seething critics is schlocky showboating and shameless self-promotion. Please.
I love this gal. She is like a gladiator.

More:
Let’s see if we have this right. The Left accused conservatives opposed to trying Gitmo terrorists in federal court of cowardice, a charge echoed to some degree by Eric Holder in his testy exchange with Senator Jon Kyl …but [Sarah Palin's] book tour should have people running for cover?

Worse Than H1N1

A new and particularly virulent disease has struck the United States over the past two years, resulting in mass casualties. Benjamin Zycher at The Corner:

President Obama in South Korea yesterday: "Iran has taken weeks now and has not shown its willingness to say yes to this proposal . . . and so as a consequence we have begun discussions with our international partners about the importance of having consequences."

So there we have it: Iran now is threatened with a lecture by the international community about the importance of the consequences that it might face. And pretty soon Mr. Obama and "our international partners" will consider the possibility of weighing the option of exploring the alternative of choosing among packages of consequences. I'm sleeping better already.

Club Gitmo: Another Promise Expires

Bad News For Idiots

Reports the NYT:
President Obama acknowledged for the first time on Wednesday that his administration would miss a self-imposed deadline to close the detention center at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, by mid-January, admitting the difficulties of following through on one of his first pledges as president.

“Guantánamo, we had a specific deadline that was missed,” Mr. Obama said in an interview with NBC News in Beijing during his weeklong trip to Asia. Mr. Obama said that he now hoped to shut down the detention facility sometime next year, but he did not set a new deadline.

“We are on a path and a process where I would anticipate that Guantánamo will be closed next year,” Mr. Obama said in a separate interview with Fox News. “I’m not going to set an exact date because a lot of this is also going to depend on cooperation from Congress.”

The prospects for fully shutting down Guantánamo have been dimming for months as the administration stumbled over a litany of political and logistical tripwires. Gregory B. Craig, the White House counsel who drafted the order to close the facility, announced last week that he was stepping down. During the presidential campaign last year, Mr. Obama railed against the detention complex on an American military base in Cuba, calling it a symbol used by terrorists to recruit new members. Within days of his inauguration, he ordered Guantánamo closed by January.
Note the passive tone President FAIL cops with NBC in order to avoid taking even a hint of responsibility for this latest fiasco:
Guantánamo, we had a specific deadline that was missed.
You can just hear him three years from now:
Afghanistan, we had a specific war that was lost.
Now that it's finally dawning on the majority of Americans that Obama is an unmitigated disaster in almost every imaginable way, an expired Obama promise has become a Good Thing, as Ed Morrissey observes:

As with many of his “expiration dates,” this one is something to cheer. The rush to close a facility designed for a specific and necessary purpose revealed just how unique Gitmo actually is — and how necessary as well. Obama did his best to ship out as many Gitmo detainees as people would take, but apparently to his surprise, most people don’t want radical Islamist terrorists living in their countries...

Instead of taking the time to review the issues and confer with Congress, Obama instead leaped to sign his executive order closing Gitmo within a year. It speaks to the unpreparedness of the President that he didn’t understand that issue despite demagoguing on it for two years on the campaign trail. Now Obama has made himself look foolish, parted with an ally in Craig in order to lay blame for the failure, and is no closer to meeting what Obama himself proclaimed as one of his highest priorities as Commander in Chief.

Obama's Broken Promises™ - Change Americans can believe in!

Holder's Whoppers

Eric Holder's testimony today is literally unbelievable.

Let's begin with his claim that justice for the 9/11 victims has been delayed for eight years. First of all, as Holder pointed out, it has been delayed even longer for the victims of the USS Cole bombing and other terror attacks. What he studiously avoided mentioning was that he was deputy AG under Clinton at the time of the Cole and other attacks, because Eric Holder never even bothered with acts of terror committed on his watch. Second, whose law firm has defended eighteen Gitmo detainees, dragging their cases to a virtual standstill these supposedly infamous past eight years, doing everything legally possible to "delay justice" to the victims he is now claiming to champion? Why, Eric Holder's law firm, of course. And how did Eric Holder deal with the already-convicted FALN terrorists on his watch? Why, he had them pardoned, of course.

Dare we ask where Holder's overwhelming commitment to justice was in the Marc Rich fiasco?

Andy McCarthy is busy today answering Holder's lies over at The Corner, including addressing the above point. Fer'instance:
6. In a civilian trial, America will see KSM for the coward that he is — Holder: "I am not scared of KSM." Submitting a war criminal to a military commission is not an exercise in fear; it is an exercise in justice. We already know all about what kind of animal KSM is, thanks to the exrtraordinary information that has come out in the military proceedings and the CIA interrogations. You could fill a book a book with it, which the 9/11 Commission did. We don't need to bear the risks of a civilian trial either to learn more about KSM or so Mr. Holder can show how brave he is.
Of course, Holder dismisses McCarthy as a "polemicist", which is apparently what leftists call prosecutors who, having experienced and dealt with the dangerous effects of prosecuting a terrorist in the civilian justice system, expose the left's disastrous idiocy. No doubt McCarthy will have more to say on Holder's lies and misdirections; here's a tidbit from a later Corner post:

If we are at war, and the Attorney General said this morning that we are, we have to treat it like a war. Pressed by Sen. Graham this morning, the AG could not name a single time when, during war, we captured an enemy combatant outside the U.S. and brought him into the United States for a civilian trial — vesting him with all the rights of an American citizen. That's because it hasn't happened. That's not how you treat wartime enemies.

Further, if we are going to have military commissions at all (and Holder says we will continue to have them), it makes no sense to transfer the worst war criminals to the civilian system. Doing so tells the enemy that they will get more rights if they mass-murder civilians.
Emphasis mine. An earlier gem, with more to come later from the never-ending Obamateur Hour:

In a meeting with the press in China, President Obama said that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed would be "convicted" and had "the death penalty applied to him" . . . and then said he wasn't "pre-judging" the case. He made the second statement after it was pointed out to him — by NBC's Chuck Todd — that the first statement would be taken as the president's interfering in the trial process. Obama said that wasn't his intention. I'm sure it wasn't — he's trying to contain the political damage caused by his decision — but that won't matter. He has given the defense its first motion that the executive branch, indeed the president himself, is tainting the jury pool. Nice work.

How Obama Is Bringing Martial Law To America

Chicago Boyz catalogues the horrors of Obama's decision to try KSM in a civilian trial mere blocks from the site of his terrorist crimes.
For over two hundred years we were careful to keep a firewall between civil and martial law. We did so because civil and martial law are polar opposites. Civil law is focused on protecting the rights of the accused against the overwhelming power of the state. When there is doubt, the accused walks free. Martial law is focused on imposing a minimal order on bloody chaos. It was focused on allowing the military to complete its mission and win wars. When there is doubt, the accused is presumed guilty.

Now, Obama wants to bring martial law into a civil court room in Manhattan. In order to let a civil conviction of KSM stand, the higher courts will have to overturn almost all the current constitutional protections of the accused.

They will have to overturn the requirement for Miranda warnings. They will have to overturn the Fifth Amendment protection against self incrimination. They will have to overturn the right to face one’s accusers and to examine all evidence and evidence gathering methods.

Even if the courts throw out his conviction, the government will never allow him to go free, so we will toss out protection against double jeopardy if they try to convict with a military tribunal, and toss out the right of no imprisonment without trial if they don’t.

Our system of justice relies on precedent and equality of procedure. The same rules apply to every civil trail. We can’t say that it’s okay to deny the right against self-incrimination in one person’s trial while saying it’s okay in another. If the courts overturn the rights of one individual accused, it must overturn the rights of all of them.

Nothing good will come of this trial.

If it is conducted outside the bounds of normal civil law, it will be nothing but a corrupt show trial whose outcome was preordained by politicians. Instead of showing the world that America is a land of laws in which even our enemies receive fair treatment, it will show the world the opposite.

If it is conducted within the bounds of normal civil law, then it will force the courts to choose between letting a mass murdering terrorist walk free and setting dangerous legal precedents that will undermine the basic civil rights of all Americans.

Obama has unleashed something in America far, far more dangerous than any excesses Bush might have committed. He has taken all the horrible compromises we must make in war and driven them into the heart of the civil legal system. If the courts do not set Khalid Sheikh Mohammed free, the cancer of martial law will metastasize into the entire justice system.

We may eventually wish we had never caught the bastard at all.
Question for idiots: How's that fight against shredding the Constitution goin' for ya?

My Brother's Keepers: Liberal Fascism On Parade

John Hinderaker at Power Line:

We are beginning to see way too many echoes of the 1930s, as national socialist and Marxian socialist thugs try to drive competing political views off the streets. The worst offenders so far have been the Service Employees’ International Union, which has repeatedly sent its members out into the streets to beat up anyone who isn’t toeing the Obama line on issues like socialized medicine.

Most recently it’s International ANSWER, a hard-core Communist group supported by shadowy funding sources that have never been made public, but appear to consist of a handful of rich people. ANSWER, notwithstanding its unabashedly Communist ideology, now feels comfortable enough to assault non-communist demonstrators who show up in the streets. In this case, the non-communists were protesting illegal immigration, seeking to uphold the nation’s laws, when they were set upon by ANSWER’s thugs:

We conservatives have long talked about our willingness to fight for freedom. In a sense, that's generally been metaphorical, especially when talking about domestic rather than foreign enemies. With the far left now on the march, however, it isn't metaphorical any more. It's just one more sign of the Age of Obama--fighting in the streets, as the extreme Left has been empowered as never before.
But Jonah Goldberg is just a right wing nutjob.

Andrew C. McCarthy: Trial And Terror

Andrew C. McCarthy has been performing a valuable public service in examining the NYC terror trial fiasco. Today he describes how the radical left is finally getting its reckoning against the Bush administration thanks to the most anti-American president and administration this country has ever seen.

Dereliction Of Duty

The WaPo reports that Attorney General Eric Holder's reason for bringing KSM and co. to New York for a civilian trial rather than keeping them in Gitmo for a military tribunal is that 9/11 was an attack on American soil against American civilians. He "supports" this argument by pointing out that he is trying the Cole attackers under the military system because the USS Cole was a military target, ergo an attack on civilians should be prosecuted in a civilian court. Got that?

Now. Holder's rationale completely ignores the fact that the targets of the 9/11 and Cole attacks are irrelevant, as both acts constitute war crimes for which military tribunals are specifically designed to mete out appropriate punishment under U.S. sovereign law as endorsed by the Supreme Court. There is nothing in the nature of military tribunals that denies KSM or any other captured illegal enemy combatant every protection to which they are entitled under U.S. military laws and the Geneva Conventions.

Another rationale employed in defense of this abomination is that only a civilian trial incorporating full Constitutional protections can demonstrate America's commitment to its own high standards of fairness and decency. Baloney. Americans don't need this insane business to prove their justice system's integrity to anyone anywhere. Only in the minds of "progressives" like Holder and his boss Obama does America's soul need such "purging" from its past sins (under Bush - always remember, this is about the Bush administration).

Whaadever. Even ignoring all that - hell, let's even buy into all that insanely flawed reasoning, lock, stock and barrel. Doesn't matter - the whole scheme is still spectacularly idiotic and dangerous, and the reason is as plain as day: any terrorist wanting to exact the absolute maximum damage from any plan will from now on only mount attacks inside the United States against civilian targets. That is what President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder are telling them to do by this very decision.

It's only logical: in Obama's America, an attack on an American military target guarantees a military tribunal away from the public eye, whereas an attack on American soil causing civilian casualties will, at least until the end of Obama's first term, guarantee not only a drawn-out civilian trial replete with the full range of Constitutional protections, but also a wide range of means, completely funded by American taxpayers including the families of your victims, for mocking America, glorifying Islam and likely even recruiting more jihadists from inside the American prison system, which is already infested with radical Islamists.

Because Holder's decision could not have been made without full presidential approval, it is no stretch at all to charge Barack Obama with the most dangerous dereliction of duty to the Constitution and his fellow Americans by any president perhaps in American history.

Did I Say "Pacific"? Because What I Really Meant? If I Could Point It Out? I Meant "Pacifist"?

'Nuff said.

How Obama Screwed The Palestinians Worse Than They Have Ever Been Screwed Before, Except Maybe By Their Own Leaders And We Do NOT Want To Go There

Obama has so thoroughly inflamed the war between Israel and Palestinian Dupes For Islam that now Bill Clinton has been dispatched to the Holy Land to pour oil on the troubled waters Cajonus Giganticus has left in his wake. The Obama Show is fast turning into a gigantic ongoing clean-up operation.

Power Line's got it:
Bill Clinton is in Jerusalem trying to clean up behind President Obama and Hillary, whose strident anti-settlement policy has blown up in their face. Clinton's comments are significant only because they show what a shambles the administration's Middle East policy has become. Obama and his Secretary of State have managed to alienate the Israeli government by virtue of their initial hard line on settlements, and to place the leader of the Palestinian Authority in an untenable position by virtue of their retreat from that initial hard line. So now, it is left to an ex-president to play statesman and try to patch things up.

That which idiots fear most is now upon them, courtesy of their very own beloved Messiah. But then we're seein' a lot of that these days.

Rudy To Obama On NYC Trial For KSM: Explain To Me Why

Explain To Me Why KSM has to be tried as a common criminal in New York City and not as a war criminal in Guantanamo Bay.

Obama-Holder's Secret Agenda

No-one knows Islamic terrorism and its ever-helpful friends in transnational law better than Andrew C. McCarthy, who also knows what is really going on in Obama's decision to try KSM in a criminal court. Here is the full text, with links, of McCarthy's NRO Corner post about the hidden agenda Obama and Holder have set into motion.

Holder's Hidden Agenda, cont'd . . .
This summer, I theorized that Attorney General Eric Holder — and his boss — had a hidden agenda in ordering a re-investigation of the CIA for six-year-old alleged interrogation excesses that had already been scrutinized by non-partisan DOJ prosecutors who had found no basis for prosecution. The continuing investigations of Bush-era counterterrorism policies (i.e., the policies that kept us safe from more domestic terror attacks), coupled with the Holder Justice Department's obsession to disclose classified national-defense information from that period, enable Holder to give the hard Left the "reckoning" that he and Obama promised during the 2008 campaign. It would be too politically explosive for Obama/Holder to do the dirty work of charging Bush administration officials; but as new revelations from investigations and declassifications are churned out, Leftist lawyers use them to urge European and international tribunals to bring "torture" and "war crimes" indictments. Thus, administration cooperation gives Obama's base the reckoning it demands but Obama gets to deny responsibility for any actual prosecutions.

Today's announcement that KSM and other top al-Qaeda terrorists will be transferred to Manhattan federal court for civilian trials neatly fits this hidden agenda. Nothing results in more disclosures of government intelligence than civilian trials. They are a banquet of information, not just at the discovery stage but in the trial process itself, where witnesses — intelligence sources — must expose themselves and their secrets.

Let's take stock of where we are at this point. KSM and his confederates wanted to plead guilty and have their martyrs' execution last December, when they were being handled by military commission. As I said at the time, we could and should have accommodated them. The Obama administration could still accommodate them. After all, the president has not pulled the plug on all military commissions: Holder is going to announce at least one commission trial (for Nashiri, the Cole bomber) today.

Moreover, KSM has no defense. He was under American indictment for terrorism for years before there ever was a 9/11, and he can't help himself but brag about the atrocities he and his fellow barbarians have carried out.

So: We are now going to have a trial that never had to happen for defendants who have no defense. And when defendants have no defense for their own actions, there is only one thing for their lawyers to do: put the government on trial in hopes of getting the jury (and the media) spun up over government errors, abuses and incompetence. That is what is going to happen in the trial of KSM et al. It will be a soapbox for al-Qaeda's case against America. Since that will be their "defense," the defendants will demand every bit of information they can get about interrogations, renditions, secret prisons, undercover operations targeting Muslims and mosques, etc., and — depending on what judge catches the case — they are likely to be given a lot of it. The administration will be able to claim that the judge, not the administration, is responsible for the exposure of our defense secrets. And the circus will be played out for all to see — in the middle of the war. It will provide endless fodder for the transnational Left to press its case that actions taken in America's defense are violations of international law that must be addressed by foreign courts. And the intelligence bounty will make our enemies more efficient at killing us.

Show Trial

Obama's decision to prosecute KSM in a criminal court in New York City is the most cynical, anti-American gesture he has ever made against the country he is sworn to defend. The case against prosecuting illegal enemy combatants (as defined by the Geneva Conventions) in criminal court has been made successfully and repeatedly over the years, rendering this prosecution entirely moot. Beyond that, KSM has already confessed to his lead role in the 9/11 attacks and demanded that he be martyred, leaving absolutely nothing to "try" in a civilian court of law with no inherent jurisdiction over a matter that clearly belongs in the military justice realm.

So let's be clear about what is going on here. Obama's real intent is to place not the terrorists but America, the CIA, the military and the Bush administration on trial before the world. That has long been the idiot left's most heartfelt wish, and now they are getting it. But it will not be a trial in the centuries-old American tradition: it will be a complete mockery of those traditions that will strike countless blows against a plethora of American institutions, with implications that will not be fully known for years after they hit.

The left may be gleeful at the prospects, but this whole business places their hatred of America on trial as well; the idiot left is defending these bastards in order to get at all the targets I enumerated above, so whatever damage or carnage takes place anywhere as a result of these trials will be the direct responsibility of every last idiot son of a bitch who wanted them to happen.

Obama's America: Update From Bizzaro World

If you don't buy Obamacare, you'll go to jail. But the right are just "paranoid".

Republican employees are being purged from the civil service, retroactive 5 years. But it's not a Marxist-style government purge.

Nidal Hasan's murderous jihadist rampage against his fellow soldiers at Fort Hood is "incomprehensible". At least it is if you are President PC.

Obama announces a jobs summit with input from job-killers, starring one-man economic wrecking crew Andy Stern.

Obama's ambassador to Afghanistan is undermining General McChrystal. Behold, the strategic brilliance of Karl Eikenberry.

WTC bombing co-conspirator invited to participate in Fort Hood massacre review. Quoth Mayor Mike, "That's how you prevent tragedies." Really?

White House economic geniuses: let's use borrowed TARP funds to pay down the deficit.

Obama Rejects All Military Options For Afghanistan

Unfuckingbelievable.

Sixty five days after September 11, 2001, U.S.-led forces were in complete control of every square inch of Kabul. It has now been 74 days since General Stanley McChrystal delivered his war plan to President Dither on August 30. And still there is no decision. It's not that Obama can't make up his mind; it's that he doesn't want to. If that sounds outrageous, simply consider that Obama has been talking up a counterinsurgency strategy in Afghanistan for the better part of three years, and announced its implementation under General McChrystal in March. That's 8 months ago. The result? Nothing. It was all just more of Obama's bullshit. And now, casualties are increasing at an alarming rate.

The biggest threat to the success of the U.S. military during President Bush's two terms was the Democrats, who tried to force defeat on them in both Afghanistan and Iraq but lacked the power to do so. The only difference today is that now Democrats have the power, and they have a man in the White House who is clearly bent on hanging the American military out to dry.

As John Bolton suggests in this video, Obama's emerging pretense of waiting for a better government in Kabul is an absurdity betrayed by the whole point of being in Afghanistan - Bush led the invasion of that country to begin with precisely because of its bad government. Now Obama, who for three years dishonestly claimed President Bush had "taken his eyes off the ball" there, has dropped it completely.

Rick Perry: Obama Is Punishing Texas

How? Well, for one thing, by flooding it with illegal aliens from Arizona and California to put pressure on state social services mechanisms. But there's more. Money quote from Perry: “This is an administration hell-bent on taking America towards a socialist country.” Watch it. There is a very real anti-Obama storm brewing in the Lone Star State.

Newsflash: Free-Market-Hating Totalitarian Interventionist Wealth-Confiscating Redistributionist Big-Government President Bad For The Economy

As I and others have long contended, it isn't just that Obama doesn't know how to prevent the economy from going down the tubes; it's that he wants it to go down the tubes. And as Rand Simberg contends, even if Obama suddenly decided he did not want to destroy the free market economy, he couldn't do anything to rescue it anyway. Not any more.

Why? Because his brand is shot. When it comes to jobs and the economy "Obama" means nothing but pain: unemployment, higher taxes, higher energy costs; less disposable income, insane spending, eternal deficits, a trillion this and a trillion that; zero stability and therefore zero opportunity.

In other words, Hopelessness. Think Michigan and California.

To borrow from an old joke, it's not us - it's him. Barack Obama is so obviously against the free market and economic recovery in America that businesses both big and small have decided to hunker down and ride out the mess created by his administration. No sense drawing too much attention when it could attract the covetous gaze of a totalitarian-minded czar who can decide you're making too much in the way of unnecessary capitalist perks like, say, a paycheck, or a profitable bottom line. Better to just lay low until the whole statist shitstorm blows over.

The problem is not that Obama doesn’t spend enough time on the economy — his philosophy isn’t capable of (or interested in?) stimulating growth anyway. . . .

He could also have promised to keep in place the Bush tax rate cuts, due to expire next year, providing more confidence in the future of the economy. He could have let his campaign promises about nationalizing health care and dramatically raising the costs of energy with cap ‘n’ tax expire, as all of his statements and promises eventually do.

But something he could have done — that would have cost nothing at all — would have been to not scare the bejesus out of business in the first place during his campaign.

Obama talked of increasing capital gains taxes for reasons of “fairness,” even if it actually hurt government revenue. He talked of “spreading the wealth around.” He gave soaring speeches exalting the glory of the state and public service, while the contributions of business and capitalism were ignored. He treated “profit” like a four-letter word and promised to “raise taxes on the rich.” He made economically insane and historically ignorant arguments blaming the meltdown of the financial system on “capitalists” and “deregulation.”

Obama persuaded many small business people to pull in their horns and make plans to keep a low profile (including laying people off) in order to avoid the wealth confiscation of the populist, socialist, economic storm they saw coming with his election.

And that's where the engines of the economy are in America today: hiding from Obama and the chaotic uncertainty he brings to an otherwise efficient and reliably self-correcting system.

Adding today to that prevailing sentiment is Emerson Electric Co. CEO David Farr, who wants nothing to do with Obama's appetite for gorging on American corporate flesh:

Emerson Electric Co. Chief Executive Officer David Farr said the U.S. government is hurting manufacturers with regulation and taxes and his company will continue to focus on growth overseas.

“Washington is doing everything in their manpower, capability, to destroy U.S. manufacturing,” Farr said today in Chicago at a Baird Industrial Outlook conference. “Cap and trade, medical reform, labor rules.”

...Emerson, which Farr said employs about 125,000 people worldwide, has eliminated more than 20,000 jobs since the end of 2008 to lower expenses.
“What do you think I am going to do?” Farr asked. “I’m not going to hire anybody in the United States. I’m moving. They are doing everything possible to destroy jobs.”

...“We as a company today are putting our best people, our best technology and our best investment in these marketplaces to grow,” he said. “My job is to grow that top line, grow my earnings, grow my cash flow and grow my returns to the shareholders. My job is not to shrink and roll over for the U.S. government.”

No sane man in Farr's position is going to take any other view than that dictated by the bottom line, a concept Obama and his confiscatory zealots will never understand. Unlike the Carter years, when the effects of such disastrous mismanagement did not immediately become manifest, it happens in today's wired world at the speed of light.

So the smart money heads offshore to friendlier climes, leaving Obama and his fellow travellers to eventually face an increasingly hostile and vengeful electorate in its wake.

Idiots Whining About Conservative Book Sales

Don Surber has a laugher up at his Daily Mail blog: Lefties complain that conservatives sell too many books.

Yeah, that free market is a real bitch when nobody with any brains wants what you're selling.

My Brother's Keepers: Code Pink Bitches Taunt Innocent Children Of Military Families At White House

You choose yer side, you wear it. All of it. Obama's Code Pink footsoldiers assembled outside the White House for a Halloween event to traumatize children of the military. When this sort of thing happened on Bush's watch, you knew it was happening because he believed in freedom of expression, come what may. When it happens under Obama, whose campaign directly benefited from these assholes, you know it's because he wants it to happen. The writers at Big Government ponder the obvious:

One wonders what will it take for President Obama to renounce the support of Code Pink and Jodie Evans. A commander-in-chief who truly cared about the troops and their families wouldn’t have to be told to do the right thing. It would come naturally.
Point taken, but the problem here is that this commander-in-chief a) welcomes the support of Code Pink and Jodie Evans because he agrees with them and their methods, and b) this c-in-c truly does not care about the troops and their families except for their propaganda value in legitimizing his presidency.

Obama has shown repeatedly that he will go after opponents on any issue with all the firepower at his disposal, so you know that if he did not want his very close Code Pink pals gathering outside his front door to harrass these kids and their parents, they would not have been there. That they were says only one thing: he didn't "mind" them being there, IYKWIMAITYD.

Headline Of The Day

Obama on Fall of Berlin Wall: No One Could Have Forseen on That Day That German Ally America Would Be Led By Man of African Descent

There is a fallacy in the theory of evolution, often cautioned against, to imagine evolution as one long "march of progress" in which every mutation and selection works, teleologically, to produce the supreme form of being (that would be us). It's a vanity science has no use of.

On the other hand, there is Obama. 100,000 years of human history have unfolded in just this precisely-right way to contrive in his person the Ultimate Man.

There is no agenda of Obama; rather, physics and history have an agenda leading us to Obama.

The universe has conspired benevolently to bring us him.

What a stupid dick.

Wow.

Wow.

Mysteries Explained

If you have ever wondered exactly why General George Casey is the Army Chief of Staff in the Obama administration, this quote from Casey about the Fort Hood Massacre should clear things up:
As horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.
There you have it. "Diversity" trumps everything else in today's Army, even the lives of almost fifty of your best people at the hands of a rampaging Islamofascist terrorist. Says David Horowitz of this madness,
Sure, let’s put weapons in the hands of Muslim terrorists rather than ask whether a Muslim who attends a jihadist Mosque, worships an Imam who openly preaches war against the United States, and who himself calls for the killing of infidels might be a security problem. General Casey’s remarks in this interview might recommend him for psychiatric evaluation except that this obvious psychosis (detachment from reality) is a political epidemic that has now revealed itself as the gravest threat to our nation’s security after the terrorists themselves.
Meanwhile, The Good Michelle deciphers Nidal Hasan's calling card, and Kathy Shaidle deciphers George Soros' latest Media Matters idiocy. Bad enough to have to report it to others; why anyone would seek to absorb and metabolize such poisonous bilge is quite beyond my ken.

Remembering Reagan And The Victims Of Communism

President Shout-Out is not attending the celebrations taking place in Germany to mark the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. While many Americans consider that a national disgrace, I do not. Instead, I believe it disgraces only one man: Obama. As he has demonstrated once again with his recorded message (complete with Messiah Echo™), he is guaranteed to make any event ultimately more about his own fine self than anything else, so it's a relief to know that his loving self-regard will be limited to a couple of minutes of preening before the assembled on a big screen.

Better that the name "Ronald Reagan" was not sullied by crossing Obama's lips, because in Obama we are talking about a poseur, a no-account phony who rides on the backs of others' accomplishments while also blaming everything he possibly can on those same others.

In stark contrast to the empty-suit punk from Chicago, Ronald Wilson Reagan was a giant by any measure of human accomplishment, especially as the leader of the free world; a visionary willing to declare about the Soviet Union, Russia's thugocracy and the evils of communism what midgets like Obama would never even think of saying, because midgets like Obama are themselves totalitarian thugs who drink from the same wellspring of ideology as did Stalin and his successors.

Enough about the modern cult of The One; let's look at a real titan of history, the man who sealed the fate of the Soviet Empire, in one of his finest moments:

Thank you, President Reagan.

And, via Hot Air, Reason TV remembers the victims of communism:

The Berlin Wall

Seven years before the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Evil Empire my wife and I met a couple of newlyweds who had just escaped from the Soviet Union; Czechoslovakia, to be exact, then ruled of course by a puppet government installed by Moscow. The couple, Jan and Daniella, were highly accomplished young people who, chafing under communist oppression, had applied for permission to celebrate their honeymoon with a two-week trip to West Germany. Upon receiving permission from the government to visit the outside world, they packed two weeks worth of clothing and left behind everything they had ever known and loved: their families, their friends, their very lives. Why?

Freedom.

All they wanted was to be free; all their parents, siblings and friends wanted for them was to be free. And after they arrived here, they were pursued and harrassed by their tormentors from the other side of the Wall. Their phone was tapped, they were "informed" by official Czech government notices that they needed to send money or return to Czechoslovakia in order to insure their parents' health; their cars were vandalized the day after they were interviewed by their city newspaper about the joys of living in freedom and the horrors of life inside the Soviet Union.

They fought through each and every threat, extortion and harrassment, many of which my wife and I were privy to, with great courage and an ever-burning commitment to their new freedom. And they prospered, each developing their own businesses, buying a beautiful home in a good neighborhood and starting their family - I can recall the pain they felt when it seemed as if they would be unable to conceive, and their glorious joy at finally becoming parents.

Until we met Jan and Daniella, we took many, perhaps all, of our freedoms for granted. We had given scant consideration to the misery that had enveloped generations of souls in the Soviet Union for decades, the lives of millions of innocent, talented, good people that had been wasted and destroyed, the years of darkness, murder and misery, military conflict and economic devastation that were and still are the price of brutal opression.

That was in the early 1980s, when it was fashionable to think of Ronald Reagan as a doddering old fool with a simplistic world view. Not to Jan and Daniella, who revered the man and never hesitated to sing his praises. And when I saw what Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Lech Walesa and Pope John Paul II meant to them as enemies of communism and champions of freedom, I understood who was on the side of our new friends and who was not. I still understand today, and for that I thank my old friends.

My wife and I have not seen or spoken with Jan and Daniella for years now, since before the Berlin Wall was torn down forever by the forces of freedom. We moved away and eventually lost track, as happens in life. But we will always love and respect the friends we made in the young couple whose energy and lust for freedom woke us to appreciating our own birthright.

And twenty years to the day after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the evil empire that was the Soviet Union, they are at the very forefront of our thoughts.

Thanks, you two, and may you always be blessed with the freedom you so love. Come to think of it...

UPDATE
Amazing what can happen if you just pick up the phone and reach out to old friends. What a wonderful day, and what a wonderful way to mark this very special anniversary.

Marine Wife Vilifies President Shout-Out UPDATED

Obama Doesn't "Get" the Military He Commands is a gigantic bitch-slap upside the head of President Shout-Out from one who knows:

There's an important point here: where was our Commander in Chief when his top commander in Afghanistan was being viciously attacked? Did he step in and defend his subordinate for doing the job he was ordered to do? Of course he didn't. Harry Truman was obviously no community organizer: the brouhaha over McChrystal ensured that the buck wouldn't stop in the Oval Office this time. The McChrystal leak was followed by the revelation that our stalwart Commander in Chief had only met with his top commander in Afghanistan once. Stung by the implication that his "war of necessity" was very much on the back burner, Obama scrambled to find a mere 20 minutes to spare as he idled on a runway in northern Europe [to grovel for the Olympics ~ Ed.]. He spent more time than that conducting a beer summit.

Now the Army's largest base has suffered a devastating attack by a deranged Islamist. And how does our Commander in Chief respond? He gives a "shout out" to Joe Medicine Crow, that noted Congressional Medal of Honor winner.

Tell me something: in a moment of national tragedy is it really too much to expect the President of the United States to forego the "shout outs"? Is it too much ask that he learn the difference between the Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Medal of Honor? What we require from our leaders at times like this is not much, really. No one expects them to actually care. What we want is precisely the kind of thing that comes so effortlessly to Barack Obama: honeyed words and a reassuring show of compassion from a man who thinks that quality is the most important attribute a Supreme Court judge can possess. A public acknowledgment that something grave has happened. But for some reason, asking the Commander in Chief of our armed forces to give even the appearance of empathy was a bridge too far.

Americans expect something more from their leaders in times of trouble. We expect grace. Empathy. Inspiration. A sense of solemn gravity that befits the nation's somber mood. When the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded killing 7 astronauts, Ronald Reagan postponed the State of the Union report to address and assuage the nation's shock and mourning.

Barack Obama, on the other hand, gave us shout outs.

Read it all, because it very eloquently explains this:

Power Line's take is always worth taking in:

Obama has little interest in military personnel unless they can be cast as a victim group in need of liberal largesse.
UPDATE
Irony bordering on cosmic as Director of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano reacts to the Fort Hood massacre as only a member of this virulently anti-American-military administration could:
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates -- The U.S. Homeland Security secretary says she is working to prevent a possible wave of anti-Muslim sentiment after the shootings at Fort Hood in Texas.

Janet Napolitano says her agency is working with groups across the United States to try to deflect any backlash against American Muslims following Thursday's rampage by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who reportedly expressed growing dismay over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
No word on what she is doing to improve national security in the wake of an Islamist terror attack on America's largest military installation, or when she will get around to fulfilling her sworn Constitutional duty instead of libeling the American military and making excuses for the Islamofascist bastards targeting them.

That'd be nice, wouldn't it: a Homeland Security Director hell-bent on securing the homeland. Instead, Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano turns the attacker into the victim.

The Jihadist Is The Victim

Phyllis Chesler on the truth behind all the excuse-making that paralyses Western civilization in the war against Islamofascism:
The attackers are really self-defenders. The jihadist is always the victim.
Ask any of the Muslim fathers who have honor murdered their daughters in America in cold blood. They’ll tell you the same thing. She attacked my honor. I had to defend myself. It was an act of pure self-defense. This is precisely what Zein Isa, another Palestinian, and a member of the Abu Nidal terrorist gang, said about killing his 16 year old daughter, Palestina (“Tina”) Isa in 1989 in St Louis, Missouri.

Male Muslim jihadic rage? That is equivalent to 4000 pounds—the weight of the car that Faleh AlMaleki drove over his daughter Noor who died of her profound injuries in Arizona. Ironically, AlMaleki has just been placed on a suicide watch in Arizona—and his compatriot in crime, Muzammil Hassan in Buffalo, is trying to plead temporary insanity (“extreme emotional disturbance”) to explain why he finally beheaded his wife Aasiya, whom he had continually battered.

So: The 4000 pound father in Arizona is really the victim, as is the Buffalo beheader.
Sudden Jihad Syndrome, (it’s not all that “sudden” by the way), Personal Jihad Syndrome, call it what you will—these terrible acts should not be psychiatrically diagnosed and excused. In Islamist culture what Major Hasan did is a glorious act, a desired act; it is not the act of someone who is considered psychiatrically deranged. At the risk of being called a racist, allow me to suggest that we must connect the dots before it is too late. Islam now=jihad=hate propaganda=9/11=the tragedy at Ft. Hood.

That means Islam now, and its followers of all colors and ethnicities, is at war with the entire world, is dreaming of a Caliphate to be achieved through violent jihad. I doubt that Major Hasan is a Sufi Muslim.

Just think: Islam as violent jihad trumped Major Hasan’s life-time experience of growing up in America and more important, trumped his training as both a soldier and as a psychiatrist! He is a Trauma expert, specialized to help people who have faced disasters. (Or so we’ve been told). All the brakes failed, no dam could withhold a Jihadist whose time had come.

Telegraph: Hasan Linked To September 11 Terrorists

Imagine My Surprise

The Telegraph is once again doing the work the American MSM refuses to do, this time reporting that Nidal Hasan attended the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists.
Hasan's eyes "lit up" when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlaki's teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas, the scene of Thursday's horrific shooting spree.

As investigators look at Hasan's motives and mindset, his attendance at the mosque could be an important piece of the jigsaw. Al-Awlaki moved to Dar al-Hijrah as imam in January, 2001, from the west coast, and three months later the September 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour began attending his services. A third hijacker attended his services in California.

Hasan was praying at Dar al-Hijrah at about the same time, and the FBI will now want to investigate whether he met the two terrorists.
But as President Shout-Out has cautioned in the special case of Islamofascist mass murderers, we should not "jump to a conclusion", a term that President Shout-Out, given his Afghanistan dithering, seems to confuse with "arrive at a conclusion".

There's more developing of course. Here's some fascinating Sunday reading:

The Good Michelle asks the question of the day: Why do we have to read British papers to get Ft. Hood jihadist news?! and posts a raft of other informative articles as well:
The massacre at Fort Hood and Muslim soldiers with attitude
An outbreak of honor killings in America
Homegrown jihad in Detroit: “America must fall”
President condemns jihadi recruiting in Minnesota (No, not The One)
Two men removed from plane at LAX. CAIR lawsuit in 3, 2, 1…
Ho-hum: Just another illegal alien jihadi suspect
Former Muslims United speak out on eve of “Islam on Capitol Hill” march
Tax grants for jihadi enablers: Another slap in the faces of Lockerbie victims’ family

Elsewhere:
This is What Happens When You Drop the Ball:
While DHS was busy putting tea parties and anyone who dares fly the official military Gadsen flag on the domestic terrorist watch list, a real terrorist was spouting off online, glorifying suicide bombings and our mission in Iraq. I mean, I’m sure if I drink enough I might be able to understand the perception that a bunch of middle-class people peacefully dissenting with certain Washington policies are way more dangerous than a dude who talked about terrorist stuff on social sites and had gotten authorities’ attention six months ago.
Death Toll Now At 14
Ft Hood Shooter Was Member Of Extremist Salafi Mosque In DC Area
Why Was Major Nadil Malik Hasan Still In The United States Military ?

H1N1 And The Calgary Flames

I can't think of a better example of the "death panel" concept in practice than the class warfare being perpetrated against the Calgary Flames and the poor Alberta Health Services staff members hung out to dry by that ministry when it should have backed the decision for its obvious and considerable benefits.

Seems the more money you make, the less you deserve protection from a government-decreed public health hazard, regardless of the risks it poses in one's specific profession, unaware as the H1N1 virus is of the size of one's paycheck.

Robert Gibbs: Some Call Him An A**hole, But I Like To Think Of Him More As A Memoryhole

Quoth the idiot Gibbs in reference to fewer than a dozen signs at the D.C. Obamacare protest attended by tens of thousands of American patriots:
Imagine just a few years ago had somebody walked around with images of Hitler.
Of course, one need not imagine people "walking around with images of Hitler just a few years ago"; one need only recall, as does Mary Katherine Ham to the usual devastating effect.

Idiots: the gift that keeps on giving.

How It's Done

Greg Pollowitz in NRO's Media Blog:

In Contrast to Obama’s Visit to Dover . . .

Los Angeles Times:
Last night former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura made a secret visit to the devastated military families at Fort Hood.

The Bushes instructed the mourning military base's commander that they wanted no publicity. With their Secret Service detail, Bush and his wife made the 30 mile trip unannounced from their ranch near Crawford, Texas Friday evening.

Fox News broke news of the visit this afternoon. Other sources said the former first couple spent about two hours meeting with family and soldiers, talking quietly and at times hugging them as they did in private at other times of crisis such as post-9/11.

Most presidents come to feel a genuine respect and affection for the people they lead as commander-in-chief and sometimes the affection is reciprocated.

Media, President Shout-Out On Fort Hood Terror Attack: It Isn't What It Is

Glenn Reynolds posts this nugget:
ASKING THE TOUGH QUESTIONS, getting the squishy answers.

TAPPER: Kind of a — a theoretical question, but what — at what point does an attack become considered a terrorist attack, even — even if it’s a domestic terrorist attack?

GIBBS: I don’t know that I would have the theoretical background to — to answer that. I would pose that to somebody at — at the FBI. But, again, I don’t know that we’re at a point yet where we fully understand motive.
ME: Obviously, it came long before the point when Nidal Hasan screamed "Allahu Akhbar" and opened fire on the fellow soldiers he demonstrably hated as infidels.

Boundless energy is being poured into the effort to pre-empt anyone from reaching the obvious conclusion that Nidal Hasan was on a jihadist mission to kill as many infidels as possible.

Take Newsweak's Andrew Bast, who would have us believe Hasan's attack was symptomatic of an overstressed military. This of course suggests, as Tim Graham writes at Newsbusters, that it's all the Pentagon's fault (and therefore Bush's fault, since he started all this after a similarly inexplicable hissy fit coincidentally also thrown by Muslims some years ago in New York City) and therefore more such slaughters can be expected in the future, hopefully by a lone crazed non-Muslim because it's just getting so difficult to keep this narrative going without help from, you know, crazed non-Muslims.

Ace posts this bit from NPR:
Here’s the NPR segment. Key bit:

He gave a Grand Rounds presentation. . . You take turns giving a lecture on, you know, the correct treatment of schizophrenia, the right drugs to prescribe for personality disorder, you know, that sort of thing. But instead of giving an academic paper, he gave a lecture on the Koran, and they said it didn’t seem to be just an informational lecture, but it seemed to be his own beliefs. That’s what a lot of people thought.

He talked about how if you’re a nonbeliever the Koran says you should have your head cut off, you should have oil poured down your throat, you should be set on fire. And I said well couldn’t this just be his educating you? And the psychiatrist said yes, but one of the Muslims in the audience, another psychiatrist, raised his hand and was quite disturbed and he said you know, a lot of us don’t believe these things you’re saying, and that there was no place where Hasan couched it as this is what the Koran teaches but you know I don’t believe it. And people actually talked in the hallway afterwards about ‘is he one of these people that’s going to freak out and shoot people someday?’
Prompting Glenn Reynolds to observe with typical wryness:
Kind of reminds me of that old Saturday Night Live skit on “The Shooting of Buckwheat.” You know: “What was he like?” “Nice guy, quiet, kept to himself.” “Are you surprised he shot Buckwheat?” “Oh, no — it’s all he ever talked about.”
Even on Fox they're talking about how the thought of being deployed to the theater is a source of enormous stress that the armed forces is not resourced to handle properly. Even granting this premise, that doesn't explain why the vast majority of, if not all attacks plotted against American bases are clearly acts of jihad. Certainly the only attacks on American soil since 9/11, both on Obama's watch, are the work of Islamofascist terrorists.

More from Ace:
Today President Shout-Out said we shouldn't jump to conclusions.

"We don't know all the answers yet. And I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts," Obama said in a Rose Garden statement otherwise devoted to the economy.

Funny but he was willing to reach conclusions within hours of the murder of abortionist George Tiller. Interestingly, it took Him 2 days to issue a statement when a Muslim terrorist killed a soldier at an Army recruitment office in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Seems some incidents call for restraint and others call for immediate conclusions.
Let us also remember that President Shout-Out had no problem "jumping to a conclusion" when a "stupid" white police officer arrested His pal Professor Gates for disturbing the peace, ie. being a race-baitin' whitey-hatin' asshole who jumped to his own conclusion about a good cop doing his job.

In point of fact, Nidal Hasan was a one-man carnival of alarm bells that everyone ignored in blind fealty to political correctness. This is radical Islam's most potent weapon against its American targets, and it afforded Nidal Hasan both the means and the opportunity to murder the targets of his Islamist hatred.

That's not jumping to a conclusion; that's pointing out the obvious.

Another Grim Milestone

From Big Government:

Add in the number of people who have stopped looking for work and you've got 17.5 percent real unemployment nationwide.

Imagine being stupid enough to vote for an obvious fraud who so clearly was going to destroy the economy and steal the fruits of your labor.

"Kill The Bill" Rally In Washington Terrifies Democrats Unclear On The Concept Of "Constitutional Republic"

Thousands of American patriots converged on Washington today to tell Congresscritters of both parties that Obamacare is a no go. Democrats from Nancy Pelosi to Gerry Connolly responded by having visiting constituents arrested, while the Republican caucus wisely attended the rally to hear from The People.

Two things are certain if any of the Obama-Pelosi attacks on freedom are passed by this Congress: the perpetrators will be voted out of office, and their anti-Constitutional bills will be repealed.

Jackass

There's no occasion so solemn that it would preclude Obama from making an ass of himself, as he demonstrated today just prior to his painfully meandering statement about the slaughter at Fort Hood. Ben Johnson at News Real writes in Huge Military Slaughter — But First A “Shout Out” to Obama’s Bud:

Shortly after Major Malik Nadal Hasan opened fire at the largest activity duty armored post in the United States, Ft. Hood in Texas, President Barack Obama held a press conference to address the issue. Before getting around to the shooting that had already claimed a dozen lives and wounded at least 31 people, he began his remarks by saying:

I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow (ph) was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It’s good to see you.

The quotation says it all: our commander-in-chief feels there is no event so serious that it cannot be prefaced by a moment of glib hipness, no solemn loss so sacred he will deny himself a moment of wry self-indulgence. Soldiers were killed? Let’s say hi to Joe first. An entire theater of war needs a plan to defeat the terrorists who struck America on 9/11? No reason I can’t go golfing, shoot some hoops, and hit the town with Michelle.
Perfect. It's one of Obama's countless and revealing "me" moments that the ever-fawning MSM consistently glosses over but that normal people with respect for their military notice because
1) the people in the military are their loved ones, children, parents and friends sacrificing for their country, and
2) they aren't preening jackasses like their president.

Fort Hood Massacre A "Man-Caused Catastrophe"

The news is still spotty on the horrible attacks on U.S. Army personnel at Fort Hood in Texas, mostly because the MSM have spent the afternoon in self-censor mode. What we do finally know is that one of the main attackers was a Muslim named Malik Nadal Hasan, a psychiatrist who was working at Walter Reed and was about to be sent to Iraq.

As it stands right now this attack cannot be ruled out as an act of jihad against the U.S. military on its home soil.

Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs updates:
Malik Nadal Hasan, the jihadi that led the attack on Fort Hood, was quoted as saying "Muslims have the right to rise up against the US military" "The Muslims have a right to stand up against the aggressors" "maybe we should have more of these where people strap bombs on themselves and go into Times Square" - this according to Col Terry Lee who worked with [the] Muslim convert.
Fox just played a segment of an interview with Col. Lee in which he describes the killer's recent statements against the U.S. military, and it has been announced at a press conference that Hasan is the only one known at this point to have instigated the attacks. He is in fact still alive and in custody, albeit with some holes in him. Good. This guy needs to answer for his crimes.

And no, there are no mitigating circumstances - he murdered a dozen people and seriously wounded another thirty.

UPDATE
Apparently this guy has been posting to the web about the heroism of Islamist suicide bombers:

The Army psychiatrist suspected of carrying a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, had come to the attention of authorities six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats, law enforcement officials said Thursday.

The postings appeared to have been made by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who was wounded during the shootings at the Army post that killed 12 soldiers and wounded at least 30 others. A Fort Hood spokesman had earlier said Hasan was killed.

The officials say they are still trying to confirm that Hasan was the author of the Internet postings. They say an official investigation was not opened.

One of the officials said late Thursday that federal search warrants were being drawn up to authorize the seizure of Hasan's computer. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case.

One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates suicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades."

To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its (sic) more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause," said the Internet posting. "Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers."

Ace has been watching the MSM:

There's a lot of talk among the idiots in the media that Hasan didn't want to go to war. If even half of this accurate, Hasan had no problem going to war, he did so today. Just on the other side.
