The Kerry-ness Doctrine

Laura Ingraham has a hilarious arrow-to-the-heart piece on the newest idiot cause in America. Warning: idiots will cry. Great fun to listen to the excerpts that follow as well.

Democrats For The Destruction Of Israel

From the American Thinker's Ed Lasky, a telling vote on a telling amendment:

Congressman Mike Pence (R-Indiana) has been a stalwart supporter of the American-Israel alliance. He recently introduced an amendment to the foreign aid bill that would prohibit groups that deny Israel's right to exist from receiving American (taxpayer dollar) foreign aid. The amendment passed 390-30.

Of the 30 members of Congress who have no problem with giving money to groups that advocate and plan for the destruction of Israel, 27 of them were Democrats.

The three Republicans voting in kind with the twenty-seven Democrat terror-enablers are Gilchrest, Jones (NC) and LaHood.

Be Careful What You Vote For, Part 2

Via NRO, here's what Hamas was doing to its fellow Muslims, including civilians, in Gaza last week while the New York Times, Washington Post, and the NY Times-owned International Herald Tribune all rushed to promote their propaganda.

Ha'aretz reports:
Hamas was not using a random hit list. Every Hamas patrol carried with it a laptop containing a list of Fatah operatives in Gaza, and an identity number and a star appeared next to each name. A red star meant the operative was to be executed and a blue one meant he was to be shot in the legs - a special, cruel tactic developed by Hamas, in which the shot is fired from the back of the knee so that the kneecap is shattered when the bullet exits the other side. A black star signaled arrest, and no star meant that the Fatah member was to be beaten and released. Hamas patrols took the list with them to hospitals, where they searched for wounded Fatah officials, some of whom they beat up and some of whom they abducted.

Aside from assassinating Fatah officials, Hamas also killed innocent Palestinians, with the intention of deterring the large clans from confronting the organization. Thus it was that 10 days ago, after an hours-long gun battle that ended with Hamas overpowering the Bakr clan from the Shati refugee camp - known as a large, well-armed and dangerous family that supports Fatah - the Hamas military wing removed all the family members from their compound and lined them up against a wall. Militants selected a 14-year-old girl, two women aged 19 and 75, and two elderly men, and shot them to death in cold blood to send a message to all the armed clans of Gaza.

Iranian Mullahs Do Their Thing, NYT Editors Do Theirs

It seems these days that no story goes un-misreported by the Old Grey Mare. For weeks the world has watched as Iran's Islamofascist mullahs have stuffed their jails with young men and women after having them chased down, beaten and humiliated in public by masked enforcer-thugs. You can see about all anyone can stand to watch at Michelle Malkin, Gateway Pundit, Ali Eteraz, and Iran Focus, while the evidence continues to propagate all over the web.

Bloodied, beaten, then taken away...

...but not before being forced to suck on a lota.

The tools of the Iranian behaviour-modification specialist.

Whipped good. Whipped real good.

More fun for Iranian Islamopolice- note again the ass-washing cans
they've hung around their quarry's neck.

MM has challenged the idiots to step up and acknowledge that maybe they should be raising their voices against the real brutes and stop pissing and moaning about their BDS:

How about taking a day off from Bush-bashing and America-blaming to raise your voices against the mullahcracy’s brutal human rights abuses?

Question: Will these photos be blared across the front pages of the international media with as much disgust and condemnation as the photos of Abu Ghraib or the manufactured Gitmo Koran-flushing riots?

Answer: Fat chance.

Question: What do leftist apologists for the Iranian regime have to say about the brutal, appalling, and escalating crackdown on human rights? Yeah, you, Rosie.

Answer: Nothing.

Question: Will the same moral cowards who sat silently while Mohammad Khatami, former President of Iran, advocated executing gays during a Harvard lecture stand up now against this barbarism?

Answer: Of course not.
Michelle also points to the NYT's mealy-mouthed parroting of the official Iranian line: the beaten young men and screaming young women featured in the photos and videos are "part of a gang that had committed rapes, robberies, forgeries and other crimes." Which leads perhaps to another possibility critics have yet to consider: given the acts enumerated in "widespread Iranian news reports", perhaps these people are not human rights victims at all, but pledges undergoing a hazing before being allowed to join the upper ranks of Iranian leadership.

Yeah, that's the ticket...

Gotta get me some o' that sweet, sweet Sharia Law.

I see some folks are backing away from reporting the story because of doubts being cast by the Iranian authorities. What else is new?

Two Delusions for One

Captain Ed Morrissey and his First Mate elegantly explain the much-dissected Sopranos finale, and so provide a context for the Hillary! campaign's in-house version of that scene.

Be Careful What You Vote For

Case in point: the Palestinians. They don't want to live side-by-side with Israel. They don't want peace; they knowingly and overwhelmingly elected a government festering with Islamofascist monsters pledged to destroy Israel and declare unending war on the infidel. They've destroyed everything offered and given them by the Israelis and the rest of the civilized world. Now, they're getting what they asked for, and so will the rest of the region, all while the MSM and the critics of Israel carry on in denial.

Hugh Hewitt:

It will not be long before al Qaeda's representatives are firmly ensconced in Gaza --they may already be there, and the distinction between Hamas and al Qaeda, like the distinction between Hezbollah and Iran, may already be more academic than real. The connections between Sunni Islamist radicalism and Shia Islamist radicalism are also obvious, and do not appear to be at all troubled by the savage sectarian blows one delivers the other in various cities around Iraq. It is very confusing for the Western media eager for a storyline that makes Bush the prime mover behind the world's troubles, but the blindness of the Beltway-Manhattan media elites doesn't give an excuse to the political leadership in D.C.

The fall of Gaza to radical Islamist totalitarians with a deep desire to destroy Israel completely and a certain receptivity to terrorists eager to strike at Europe and the U.S. is the worst news since 9/11. That it is hardly noticed by a media eager to see Libby join Hilton in jail underscores the incredible absurdity of our time.
Read it all, and also visit Arab-hater Charles Johnson's LGF for regular updates.

NRO's editors weigh in:

Already, the Bush administration has been blamed for the budding civil war. It has supposedly ignored the Palestinians, creating the conditions for this outbreak of violence. At least this is a novel argument: Usually the U.S. is blamed when Palestinians kill Israelis (and the Israelis retaliate), not when Palestinians kill one another. Actually, the administration has been working to prop up the ineffectual Abbas. As for Hamas, no amount of aid or “engagement” would turn it from its maximalist goals. Where the administration can be faulted is in thinking a little over a year ago that an election featuring an armed terrorist group, in the form of Hamas, could be productive. Fundamentally, what is happening in Gaza is the Palestinians’ own tragedy, although it is one with far-reaching consequences.
Question: When will the idiot left employ their beloved "civil war" pejorative to describe how Palestinians are slaughtering each other?

David Frum wraps it up:
In their struggle for control of the Palestinian movement, Hamas and Fatah between them have killed the Palestinian state.
Iranian-sponsored Islamic fascists have consumed Gaza, swarmed onto Israel's doorstep and look poised to strike. I hope the Israelis are ready.

As for the Palestinians, they voted for it; they can wear it. Democracy is about taking responsibility.

Al Gore vs. Integrity

This clip of Al Gore accusing the first President Bush of downplaying the evils of Saddam Hussein points straight to the idiot left's growing problem, being that their leaders are not leaders at all, but reactionaries and opportunists. The Grand Chameleon is Al Gore, whose next incarnation, judging by this, will be Captain Global-Warming-Denier.

There is no question that Al Gore is a man of the world; he's been all over the map for years.

Alan Colmes says it's all okay because this was years ago, as if there is a statute of limitations on hypocrisy. Considering the aspirants to Democrat leadership, I can understand why Alan would need that particular comforting thought.

Pelosian Pecksniffery

Texas Rainmaker on Pelosian Pecksniffery:

Nancy Pelosi on Democrat William Jefferson’s indictment:
"…Mr. Jefferson, just as any other citizen, must be considered innocent until proven guilty…”

Nancy Pelosi on Republican Tom Delay’s indictment:
“[It’s] the latest example that Republicans in Congress are plagued by a culture of corruption at the expense of the American people ( By the way, Chickenlips, just how are those trumped-up charges proceeding against Congressman Delay? - Ed.).”

I can almost dismiss her hypocrisy as being simply a byproduct of partisanship - that’s predictable - but the fact she’s standing up for a man who was caught
on videotape
taking bribes and caught red-handed with the money in his home freezer while condemning a man indicted by a politically-motivated D.A. on trumped-up charges brings into question her judgment and character.
Judgement?

Character?

While TR seems new to this realization, Nancy Pelosi has to me long represented the nadir of corruption of the spirit; it can be heard in almost her every utterance. She long ago abandoned any semblance of mere partisanship in the way most people know it, and fully embraced misrepresentation, misdirection, exaggeration and bald-faced lying, in service not just to occupying a place of power and authority, but to slandering and destroying the reputations of her enemies, without regard for the truth. She is everything that is wrong with the idiot left today, all wrapped up in one morally repugnant package.

Speaking of which, Hillary! has handed the Republicans a big case of ammo, hiring Alcee Hastings, of all people, to chair her Florida campaign. For those of you who don't know Alcee Hastings, Byron York has the definitive story. Short version: soliciting bribes, lying under oath, impeached from the bench.

So thanks for that, Mrs. Clinton.

Warmongers Hijack NYT

I can't believe I'm reading this in the Old Grey Mare:
Today, in Iraq, there should be no illusion that defeat would come at an acceptable price. George Orwell wrote that the quickest way of ending a war is to lose it. But anyone who thinks an American defeat in Iraq will bring a merciful end to this conflict is deluded. Defeat would produce an explosion of euphoria among all the forces of Islamist extremism, throwing the entire Middle East into even greater upheaval. The likely human and strategic costs are appalling to contemplate. Perhaps that is why so much of the current debate seeks to ignore these consequences.
The authors of the article are two old friends of contrasting views who watched the post-Vietnam disasters unfold. They agree that the consequences of surrendering in Iraq would be disastrous beyond anything that has come before.

Finally, an adult assessment instead of piddling ideology.

New Medium, Same Old Message

A Belmont Club reader paraphrases Dorothy Thompson vis the Pelosi Democrats' Peace-Through-Surrender policy in Iraq:
This peace has been established on betrayal of the citizens of Iraq, and can only maintain itself by further betrayal. This is not peace without victory, for the victory goes to Al Qeda, Iran, Syria and Mr. Bin-Laden. This peace is without virtue. Therefore, it is not peace, but the initiation of a greater world crisis.

June 6, 1944

Slublog via Ace:

SUPREME HEADQUARTERS ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force!
You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to Victory!

I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!

Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

Dwight D. Eisenhower

The rest, including the opening minutes of Saving Private Ryan, is here.
