Iranian Mullahs Do Their Thing, NYT Editors Do Theirs

It seems these days that no story goes un-misreported by the Old Grey Mare. For weeks the world has watched as Iran's Islamofascist mullahs have stuffed their jails with young men and women after having them chased down, beaten and humiliated in public by masked enforcer-thugs. You can see about all anyone can stand to watch at Michelle Malkin, Gateway Pundit, Ali Eteraz, and Iran Focus, while the evidence continues to propagate all over the web.

Bloodied, beaten, then taken away...

...but not before being forced to suck on a lota.

The tools of the Iranian behaviour-modification specialist.

Whipped good. Whipped real good.

More fun for Iranian Islamopolice- note again the ass-washing cans
they've hung around their quarry's neck.

MM has challenged the idiots to step up and acknowledge that maybe they should be raising their voices against the real brutes and stop pissing and moaning about their BDS:

How about taking a day off from Bush-bashing and America-blaming to raise your voices against the mullahcracy’s brutal human rights abuses?

Question: Will these photos be blared across the front pages of the international media with as much disgust and condemnation as the photos of Abu Ghraib or the manufactured Gitmo Koran-flushing riots?

Answer: Fat chance.

Question: What do leftist apologists for the Iranian regime have to say about the brutal, appalling, and escalating crackdown on human rights? Yeah, you, Rosie.

Answer: Nothing.

Question: Will the same moral cowards who sat silently while Mohammad Khatami, former President of Iran, advocated executing gays during a Harvard lecture stand up now against this barbarism?

Answer: Of course not.
Michelle also points to the NYT's mealy-mouthed parroting of the official Iranian line: the beaten young men and screaming young women featured in the photos and videos are "part of a gang that had committed rapes, robberies, forgeries and other crimes." Which leads perhaps to another possibility critics have yet to consider: given the acts enumerated in "widespread Iranian news reports", perhaps these people are not human rights victims at all, but pledges undergoing a hazing before being allowed to join the upper ranks of Iranian leadership.

Yeah, that's the ticket...

Gotta get me some o' that sweet, sweet Sharia Law.

I see some folks are backing away from reporting the story because of doubts being cast by the Iranian authorities. What else is new?
