Suddenly Barack Obama claims that he never thought of the reverend Jeremiah Wright as his "spiritual mentor" of twenty (20) years.

Wow.

What was it Wright presided over between Barack and his bride Michelle? Oh yeah: just their wedding. And what was it Wright presided over with Barack and his bride Michelle and their two daughters? Oh yeah, just their two daughters' baptism. And what was the name of that book I saw a couple years back? Oh, yeah, just "The Audacity Of Hope", which title Barack Obama enthusiastically borrowed from the sermon by Wright that so spoke to Obama's inner Islamic Nationalist that he named his Self-Promobama-bio after it.

Never mind all that: the facts according to Obama at this time are that not only does Obama no longer recognize his old friend and mentor, Obama barely remembers even meeting him.

That's all anyone needs to know about Barack Hussein Obama.

Day after day, Barack Hussein Obama is further revealed to be more and more full of shit. The crazy racist jibberish Jeremiah Wright expressed at the National Press Club is no surprise to Obama, who has known the man intimately for twenty years. But I've no doubt whatsoever that Obama is seriously freaked that his pastor, mentor and friend would intentionally prove for all the world to see just how grossly dishonest Obama has been in trying to hide the real Jeremiah Wright and, therefore, the real Barack Obama, from the American electorate.

What anguish must the Lamb of Chicago be feeling right now?

Says the Obamian One, "the man I saw yesterday was not the man I knew for 20 years."

Bullshit.

The icing on the cake: the so-called Christian reverend shows up with Marion Barry, Cornel West, Malik Zulu Shabazz of the New Black Panther Party, Nation of Islam official Jamil Muhammada and a contingent of Farrakan's "bodyguards", and Obama knew nothing about any of Wright's connections to Farrakan and his facist band of Nation of Islam assholes, even after Wright visited Libya with Farrakan in 1984 to kiss Kahdaffi's ass.

Like I said: Bullshit.

Although Obama clearly has no sense of personal loyalty or honor, he is enough of a political animal to know that he has to seem as if he does. He should therefore know that it's time to withdraw from the race. Now it's up to his judgement, so let's see what he's got.

The title of Reverend Wright's sermon that morning was "The Audacity of Hope." He began with a passage from the Book of Samuel—the story of Hannah, who, barren and taunted by her rivals, had wept and shaken in prayer before her God. The story reminded him, he said, of a sermon a fellow pastor had preached at a conference some years before, in which the pastor described going to a museum and being confronted by a painting title Hope….

"It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks' greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere…That's the world! On which hope sits!"

And so it went, a meditation on a fallen world. While the boys next to me doodled on their church bulletin, Reverend Wright spoke of Sharpsville and Hiroshima, the callousness of policy makers in the White House and in the State House. As the sermon unfolded, though, the stories of strife became more prosaic, the pain more immediate. The reverend spoke of the hardship that the congregation would face tomorrow, the pain of those far from the mountaintop, worrying about paying the light bill…

Nothing about Wright is different now. Obama knows it, and so does the rest of the world.

Obama is a community organizer in the Saul Alinsky mold, and knows where to get people like Sam who have energy and drive. His staff is nothing if not energetic. He even cut his activist teeth in Chicago, the stomping grounds of Alinsky and so many others in the "progressive" community. One wonders why the windy city still has a murder rate higher than Baghdad, after so many years of enlightened activism.

Ever since the Reverend Jeremiah Wright burst on the scene in all his stunning color, his supporters have been telling me that his racist tirades are being taken out of context, and that they must be considered in their proper context. Context is Everything when it comes to the racist, anti-American conspiracy-mongering Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Along comes Bill Moyers, who provides a fawning forum in which Wright is free to explain, in whatever way he wishes, his racist tirades into their proper context. And what does Wright tell us? Nothing. Nothing we haven't heard before. No context. Just the same passive-aggressive accusations that he has been misunderstood, misrepresented, misconstrued and oh yeah taken out of context, too. But he never quite says how, just as Obama never quite says how. About anything.

The senior-most Iraqi general in charge of the security operation in Basrah has issued an ultimatum for wanted Mahdi Army leaders and fighters to surrender in the next 24 hours as the Iraqi and US military ignore Muqtada al Sadr's threat to conduct a third uprising. US troops killed 15 Mahdi Army fighters in Baghdad yesterday and have killed 56 fighters since Sadr issued his threat last weekend.

In Basrah, General Mohan al Freiji, the chief of the Basrah Operational Commander and leader of the security operation in the province, has given issued warrants "for 81 people, including senior leaders of the Mahdi militia, and they have 24 hours to give up," The Associated Press reported...

Iraqi and US forces have not stopped its operations against The Mahdi Army in Baghdad and the South despite Sadr's threat to conduct a third uprising. US forces in Baghdad alone have reported 56 "criminals" killed since Sadr issued his warning. The US military refers to the Mahdi Army as criminals in an effort to marginalize and delegitimize the group.

Twenty-seven Mahdi Army fighters were killed during clashes in Sadr City and Baghdad on April 20. US troops killed five Mahdi Army fighters in Sadr City and another seven fighters in New Baghdad on April 21. US soldiers killed another fifteen Mahdi Army fighters inside Sadr City on April 22.

South of Baghdad in the city of Karbala, Iraqi police detained seven members of the Mahdi Army on April 22.

Of course not. There’d be a few “gee, rough night for Hillary” reactions, a few “good, maybe this will convince her to get out” responses, the obligatory uproar from Jeralyn Merritt, Taylor Marsh, and the rest of the left’s dwindling pro-Clinton wing, and that’d be that. It’s entirely a means-ends analysis. ABC hurt the Savior, which is, and can only be, unfair. Hence the video below, which is circulating this afternoon.

Try as he might to "clarify" them by parsing them beyond all believability, Obama's illuminating San Francisco remarks are accurately contextualized at The Corner. The MSM have been all a-twitter about the "bitterness" aspect of Obama's slur, when the real insult is the word "cling", which reveals Obama's "special measure of arrogance"; in Obama's world, desperate American rubes wander in an existential wasteland from which they can only be delivered by turning their lives over to the Shining Obamian Light.

Rich Lowry:

Obama brings a special measure of arrogance to the standard liberal critique of Middle America. His candidacy has always been characterized by two paradoxes. How can he be so hopeful at the same time he and his wife, Michelle, portray America as a sink-pit of despair? And how can he claim to be a uniter when he’s an orthodox liberal who has risked little or nothing for bipartisan outreach?

Now, we know. Obama defines hopefulness as liberalism, specifically liberalism as embodied by himself. Only with Obama’s election will America be redeemed from its harrowing false consciousness. We will be unified, not by Obama reaching out to conservatives to hammer out compromises, but by conservatives shedding their bitterness and becoming Obama liberals.

This is the underside of hope: arrogance fading into a secular messianism based on the fallenness of everyone who disagrees with Barack Obama. And it’s small-town voters who are deluded?

I don't mind [Obama] saying that small town blue collar workers are bitter over lost jobs. I think that's objectively true in some cases and perfectly defensible as a general statement. The offending word here is "cling." It's a word drenched in haughtiness and condescension. We cling to rocks when we are caught in a current. Obama's imagery suggests that because the economic tide is receding these people are clinging to God and guns, presumably to compensate for the undertow. But he also suggests that if the economic tide were rising these same people would let go of God and guns and ride the currents to happier and more progressive lands where everyone thinks like Obama. Thomas Sowell throws in on Obama's sinking fortunes in "A Living Lie", by putting B. Hussein Obidiot's words in the larger context of the left wing idiot's general world view, which he must carefuly conceal from "the others" out there in the real world:

Like so many others on the left, Obama rejects "stereotypes" when they are stereotypes he doesn't like but blithely throws around his own stereotypes about "a typical white person" or "bitter" gun-toting, religious and racist working class people.
In politics, the clearer a statement is, the more certain it is to be followed by a "clarification," when people react adversely to what was plainly said.

How does this happen so often?

Jeremiah Wright's "Christianity" [is] Farrakhan's Nation of Islam with the serial numbers filed off and "Mohammad" swapped out for "Jesus."

Now Obama is calling Pennsylvanians and other flyover-staters a bunch of bitter, bigoted religious gunfreaks. Attaboy!

But the truth is, is that, our challenge is to get people persuaded that we can make progress when there’s not evidence of that in their daily lives. You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to express their frustrations.

What makes this so breathtaking is the mindless, casual way in which Obama reveals his snobbishness and elitism. We saw hints of this from Michelle Obama, in her assertions about never being proud of her country until her husband ran for President. (Soren Dayton has more on this.) We had not seen it from Obama himself in such a blatant and unmistakable manner. The matter-of-fact style in which he spoke this shows the unthinking contempt he has for people he has never engaged — an acceptance of stereotypes without questioning them that shows his own bigotry, not to mention foolishness and poor judgment.

The adventure continues.

So a stuttering Obama catches Himself before lying to his starry-eyed flock that a known terrorist organization in Iraq that has publicly identified itself around Earth as Al Qaeda In Iraq is in fact not in Iraq, and instead babbles that Al Qaeda's leaders are not in Iraq. While this is truly a prodigious prevarication, it is neither revelation nor relevant. But it is revealing in that it's the only way the Chosen One can bolster the Democrats' intelligence-insulting lie that the real war is somehow somewhere else, anywhere but Iraq. Where, by the way, American and IMF forces are mulching what is left of Al Qaeda In Iraq and other various and sundry Islamofascist assholes that used-to-flock-there-but-not-so-much-any-more. Including Sadr's Islamofascist assholes, which outfit is a shadow of what it was before American forces identified its heads and targeted them for death as soon as Sadr exposed their dumb asses.

...this is, of course, a non sequitur. So what? Al Qaeda's top leadership has made creating chaos in Iraq its number one priority. Was the top leadership of Nazi Germany in Normandy, or the top leadership of imperial Japan on Iwo Jima? Obama's slip nicely reveals how the Democrats' incoherent policy on Iraq requires them to deny, explicitly or implicitly, the reality of what is happening there.

True. Their "incoherent policy" originates of course from the fact that Democrats have to lie about the rescue of Iraq in order to maintain the support of their idiot-left base who, while fabulously self-delusional, nonetheless play a large part in the Democrats' electoral prospects. That's reality.

If the Democrats were invested in the truth, they would follow their own special and precious advice and "listen to the generals" (I believe a General Petreaus was in DC just in the last few days). Instead, they'll keep denying reality in Iraq at least until November, after which they will be forced to deal with it regardless of who next assumes the office of the President.

What does Obama do by asking us to believe that Iraq is suddenly all wrapped up and safe from the "real" Al Qaeda, but horribly insult the young Americans who have given blood, limb and life to rescue Iraq's people?

Obama surrogate Jay Rockefeller today accused John McCain of a military career of murderous indifference, to defame him as a man, as an honorable warrior, and as a candidate for President of the United States.

Then Rockefeller lied his way through a phoney apology that he didn't mean for a single moment.

What a poltroon.

I've no doubt we'll see more of Barack Hussein Obama lying about McCain through his Democrat sycophants.
