Abu Wabu

Obama simply doesn't get Iran's murderous leaders. His statement issued yesterday is a laundry list of idiotic appeasements that Power Line's Scott Johnson rightly describes as an astonishing embarrassment, and that surely have the mullahs laughing out loud:

I have made it clear that the United States of America wants to move beyond this past, and seeks a relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran based upon mutual interests and mutual respect. We do not interfere in Iran's internal affairs. We have condemned terrorist attacks against Iran. We have recognized Iran's international right to peaceful nuclear power. We have demonstrated our willingness to take confidence-building steps along with others in the international community. We have accepted a proposal by the International Atomic Energy Agency to meet Iran's request for assistance in meeting the medical needs of its people. We have made clear that if Iran lives up to the obligations that every nation has, it will have a path to a more prosperous and productive relationship with the international community.

There is enough to pick apart in just that portion of the statement to show what a god-awful dupe Obama is with regard to Iran, but I'll take the obvious route and just point out the insane notion that one can enjoy a mutually respectful relationship with an Islamofascist regime that imprisons, tortures and murders its own citizens, kidnaps and imprisons Western innocents for the purpose of extortion, threatens every country in the region, exports terror around the world and declares its intention to wipe both Israel and America off the map. And yes, that would be the very same Islamofascist regime which at this very moment is murderously struggling to contain a citizen uprising for freedom that is spreading across the country, an uprising Obama shamelessly refuses to even acknowledge, much less overtly support.

The lunacy of Obama's genuflection toward Tehran is further underscored by yesterday's seizure by Israel of a freighter smuggling armaments from Iran to Syria and Hezbollah, carrying ten times the weaponry held by the Karine A that Israel captured in 2002.



As Obama continues to dither in Afghanistan (another theater of Iranian terror), undermine Israel, deplete the American military and wage war against his own national security apparatus, his Islamofascist masters in Tehran continue their outrages against their own people, Israel and the rest of the civilized world. Michael Ledeen:

This is Jimmy Carter all over again, and just as Carter’s appeasement of the Islamic Republic led to the death of countless innocents, in Iran and around the world, so Obama’s appeasement will do the same. He, and his administration, are accomplices to evil.
