If Jones isn't just playin' to the home crowd, I would expect him to come out and clear the air, set the record straight. Defend his fine reputation.
One big problem is that he can't: no-one smeared him; no one lied about him. All anyone did was point out the many times he went on record just bein' his own fine self. If getting caught just being you raises a firestorm of opposition when you get put in charge of 40 billion-with-a-B dollars because your own words indicate you are a huge fucking threat to the American way of life, then it's not our problem, fella, it's your'n.
And let's make a few points clear before we go any further. This is not "the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy". No-one is opposing genuine health care reform that will truly benefit Americans, and Americans know that "clean energy" is code for a massive tax grab called "Cap and Trade". It certainly is the eve of an historic fight, but it's not for health care reform or clean energy, Trojan horses both: they're not the end, but the means to the end, as Jones himself has pointed out often enough to friendly audiences of like-minded statists that others finally began to take him at his word. No, this is the eve of an historic fight to protect the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the freedoms guaranteed therein, from a radical gang of statist thugs. Americans are finally beginning to see through their lies and discern the content and direction of their agenda, and they don't like it one bit.
Jones made the mistake he warned others not to make, leaving behind a documented trail of race-baiting and boastful trash talk about his real agenda. Such is his low character and habitual dishonesty that he couldn't not do that.
I've no doubt that Van Jones is a very smart guy. But he is also a commie-Truther, Republican-hating, whitey-hating, cop-killer-supporting radical freak. Like Obama, he's also a punk, and punks eventually punk themselves, which is exactly what Jones did.
He wasn't smeared; he was exposed.
So Mr. Jones: Playing the victim may feed your socialist sycophants' adoration for you, but it doesn't cut it with folks who don't buy the agenda you and Obama are hiding behind chants of Hopeychanginess. If anyone is using lies and distortions to distract and divide, it is certainly you and your fellow statists, all of whom are now cowering behind what is left of Obama's ever-diminishing apron.
