MAJOR FAIL

In a nutshell, that's what the State Controlled Media did in the Van Jones burndown, but as it unfolds it signifies more than I first thought. Consider Andy Levy:

Won't it be weird when people who don't get their news from the internet or FNC have no idea who the guy who resigned is?
Well, that's where we are. And really, it is weird, even surreal.

Toms Brokaw and Friedman natter away on Sunday morning actually trying to demonize the internet, the medium whose users are doing the job these guys stopped doing a long time ago. But what is really going on here? Are they really as ignorant and behind the curve as they appear to be, or are they posturing in an attempt to rescue themselves from their self-authored irrelevance?

Didn't They See What Happened To Rather?
The famous (I like to be magnanimous) Rathergate affair provides a valuable service in considering what both the question and its obvious answer imply.

Dan Rather somehow became convinced of one of two things: either that he had a genuine story, or that he knew it was a pack of lies but was willing to abuse his power in order to affect his idea of a positive outcome in the election. This was to be the Walter-Cronkite-declaring-Vietnam-lost part of Rather's biography.

And what do you know: it was all lies. A fabrication founded on arrogance and a totalitarian mindset, debunked in mere hours by private citizens who performed their civic duty and took the time and made the effort to find the truth.

If Rather was convinced he had a story, then he was derilict in his duty and guilty of abusing his position of trust with the American people; if he knew it was all lies, then he was both of the above and corrupt to boot. The bottom line is that both scenerios are not only unacceptable, they are dangerous. Dangerous to American freedoms, and a genuine threat to the very survival of the country.

Think about what the Obama crowd would be getting away with in a country with people like Rather, Brokaw - hell, the whole State Controlled Media, in place and singing Obama's song, and no internet. And no Fox News. And no Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Michelle Malkin, Mark Levin, Jonah Goldberg, or Mark Steyn because the Fairness Doctrine is back in place. And Obamacare and Cap and Trade are already faits accomplis, because there's no internet. No high-powered public forum for citizen watchdogs that is out of the reach of those who would seize power from the People.

Without Fox News, talk radio and the "open sewer of the internet" we wouldn't know what we know about the open sewer of Obama's close personal associates, and either already have or are beginning to learn about them as we learned the truth about Van Jones: Reverend Wright, William Ayers, Bernadine Dorhn, Tony Rezko, Father Pfleger, Michelle Obama, David Axelrod, Tim Geithner, Eric Holder, Van Jones, Adolfo Carrion, Carol Browner, Vivek Kundra, Nancy DeParle, Carol Browner, John Holdren, Cass Sunstein, Mark Lloyd, the Apollo Alliance, STORM, ACORN, SEIU -- the list of corrupt players who are cut from the same cloth as Van Jones seems to go on forever.

And without the New Media, it probably would go on forever.

And America as we know it would disappear.

Van Jones is not the problem. He's a symptom of a much bigger problem: the real Barack Obama, and the real Barack Obama Marxist agenda.

But the Van Jones case does provide the solution: the way to expose the real Barack Obama is to expose his key people, all of whom have something to hide: their radical agenda to transform America. The citizens have the initiative for now, and the State Controlled Media are no longer in control of the message. The People are. Obama has been asserting his will on the economic, legal and social infrastructures in America in the past eight months like no president before him, and Americans are pushing back. That will become all too clear on September 12, and the State Controlled Media won't be able to ignore what millions are either participating in or watching, on their computer screens if necessary.

Another factor is that the left's weapons are being rendered ineffective by overuse. Americans are familiar with them and recognize their deployment, so they lose the power they once had to stop an honest man in his tracks by startling him with false accusations. How many who heard Nancy Pelosi invoke the swastika slander must have thought, "enough". Van Jones whines that he's a victim. Whaadevver - he's been pimping victimhood for years. It's what he does. The State Controlled Media made complete asses of themselves today scrambling for a spot at the table to bemoan the loss of yet another Obama scoundrel wrapped in swaddling victimhood, but they also showed us what we are up against. It's beyond requiring any response except resolving to just flat defeat it.

All of it. For good.
