Flipping Off Israel

Like the rest of us, Israelis no doubt saw Obama flip the bird to both Hillary! and John McCain during the campaigns last year, so they know when they're being dissed by the Gigantic Presidential Cajones. The photo, which taken in the same vein also pointedly shows Obama's contempt for the Office of the President of the United States, was released by the White House with the pointed observation that it was taken during a recent telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Ronald Reagan demanded that his Oval Office staff wear a suit and tie because he honored the Office of the President. He never put his feet on the president's desk.

barack hussein obama casually puts his feet up on the Oval Office Desk as a clear sign of disrespect. You know it; I know it.

Says CBS:

It is considered an insult in the Arab world to show the sole of your shoe to someone. It is not a Jewish custom necessarily, but Israel feels enough a part of the Middle East after 60 years to be insulted too...

Clumsy, since one does not need to employ an insult by custom to know when one is its target.

Imagine the flag-burnings, riots and other pointless violence that would have swept the Israel-hating "street" if Bush had released a similar shot taken while he was chatting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. Or Helen Thomas.

The insults and arrogance toward the key U.S. ally in the Middle East go deeper; in fact, Obama is threatening Israel directly, as Gabriel Malor observes:

The message could not be any clearer: "that's a nice country you got there. It'd be a shame if something were to happen to it."

I don't even have the words to say how shameful Obama's treatment of our allies has been. But this is more horrifying than merely irritating our coalition partners; it goes beyond destroying our special relationship with the UK. Those are bad things, but this is beyond the pale. He is throwing a good people to the wolves. It sickens me.

The picture gets fuller every day.
