Wisdom Wins
Meanwhile, The Messiah Is Still Wilfully Killing The Economy
Via Russ From Winterset,
protein wisdom's Jeff Goldstein and Patterico are at odds over Rush's stated wish that the Messiah fail, the issue being one of how to express that wish. Goldstein says we bludgeon the idiots with the fact of their dishonesty in twisting Rush's words; Patterico wants Rush to be more careful with his words in the naive hope that that will somehow prevent them from being twisted by malicious idiots. I say Jeff G is right, because idiots are not only always trying to tell us what words we can use, what terminology is acceptable (not just to them but to everyone else because they want control over the whole arena), but they also consistently lie about Rush and what he says. And to play into that is to lose ground right out of the gate.
In weak defense of his lame case, Patterico comments at PW:
What Patterico doesn't understand is that it doesn't matter, because even if you do deliberately avoid being provocative, the liars will twist your words to make what you say sound not just provocative but offensive. The idea is to put you on the defensive so as to distract from the real issue (see subhead above) and Patterico has swallowed that whole thing hook, line and sinker.
To me there's no debate; idiots will interpret Rush to their audience in whatever way suits them. That's how they roll - they're liars. Not just dishonest, not just disingenuous. That's too forgiving, too enabling; they're just fucking liars. And when they're not lying, they're busy making shit up. You know it, I know it, Patterico knows it. So why concede the rules of engagement to a bunch of fucking liars when you know they're going to lie and make shit up about what you've said no matter what you said or how you said it? Why not just say what you think and let the liars prove that they're just a bunch of fucking liars?
That's what Rush did when he said he wanted Obama to fail at destroying the country, and now millions of people who weren't listening before are listening now and getting it. That's why the idiots are twisting Rush's words, because they don't want his real message to get out there. And the best thing is that by doing so they are proving Rush's point that they're a bunch of fucking liars.
I'll say it again: this is war. Rush is taking the battle to the enemy, and the enemy is already starting to whine. I say press on. Hard.
At any rate, the White House admits that it's all a distraction from the fact that Obama is presiding over The Economic Meltdown of the Early Twenty-First Century, as they will title it in the history books on the off chance there are any literate students left to read them, so let's get back to business, shall we?
Obama is purposely fucking the economy.

You can say what’s on your mind and be deliberately provocative, or say what’s on your mind and not be deliberately provocative.Well. So what?
