After almost three decades of nightmarish rule by Saddam Hussein, Iraqis have a democratically-formed constitutional government. Many problems remain, but those who were in favor of leaving Saddam in place because they despise George W. Bush can now reflect on what their solipsism would have wrought upon innocent Iraqis had they had their way: Saddam still in power, a nuclear arms race between Iraq and Iran, thousands of now dead jihadists still around to attack Western civilization, and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis perishing each year at the merest gesture from Saddam or his sons Uday and Kusay.

These people refer to themselves as progressives.

Never mind. Congratulations to the Iraqi people, and God bless their simple individual courage.

We're with you, even if others, driven by an irrational hatred of one man, are not.
