Saddam's Iraq Speaks
In the wake of calls by the Democrats' leadership to abandon Iraqis to Abu Musab al Zarqawi, the first witnesses have begun to testify in the trial of Saddam Hussein.
From NRO's Corner:
SADDAM’S TRIAL [Cliff May]
Some excerpts from the testimony of Ahmed Hassan Mohammed:
“There were mass arrests. Women and men. Even if a child was 1-day-old, they used to tell his parents, ‘Bring him with you.” … There were “random arrests in the streets …”
“I saw corpses and bodies of our neighbors. … Some of them we couldn’t even recognize their bodies.”
"I saw women being tortured… My brother was given electric shocks while my 77-year-old father watched. They told us, 'why don't you confess, you will be executed anyway.'”
"I swear by God I walked by a room and on my left I saw a grinder with blood coming out of it and human hair underneath."
“…a woman told a guard that her infant baby needed milk or he would die. He died and the guard threw him from the window. … Pregnant women gave birth in the prison. Their babies died.’”
Now I know none of this is as newsworthy as the possibility that someone slipped an Iraqi editor $100 to run an op-ed. Still I do hope it merits some time on CBS/ABC/NBC/PBS etc.
And still, anti-war idiots will claim Bush had no business removing Saddam from power. Or that America didn't have the support of its so-called "allies", the ones who were busy fucking us through Oil For Food. Or that it should have been done this way rather than that. Or that the troops should be brought home because they can't win against a few thousand walking dead mice. Or...or...or... anything but relief that Iraqis' voices can now be heard in service to bringing this monster to justice.
Despite the wave of horrors yet to be chronicled (although they won't be well covered by the MSM), I anticipate few conversions amongst anti-war idiots on the road through Saddam's trial; anyone who calls Bush a criminal and scoffs at Iraq as the front in the war against Islamofascism has neither the brains nor the character to see the cruelty of such ignorance; they're too busy hating George W. Bush for anything they can think of.
Kerry, Pelosi, Dean, Murtha, Reid pander to that ignorance and hatred every day, and leftist idiots take the bate every time.
