"Is there a bigger victory than this? I believe not."

Feb. 1 2005

"Is there a bigger victory than this? I believe not."
I remember Bro telling me that Bush and his neocons went into Iraq "knowing nothing about the way they think there" (which of course isn't true at all, but that's an old, old nit). The election on Sunday pretty much put the lie to that notion; Bush knew Iraqis would sense the enormity of the opportunity to choose freedom. I knew the Iraqi election would be an historic success despite the endless barrage of threats from Zarqawi, Kennedy, etc.

At the same time, we have this as yet another reminder to the world of the enemy's true nature. I also recommend this article by Bill Roggio at The Fourth Rail.

I wonder if Eason Jordan will put the above story at the top of the CNN evening news...well, really I don't. After all, he's been quite busy since accusing US soldiers of murdering journalists.

Captain's Quarters offers a perspective on Eason Jordan's career as the head of CNN, while Hugh Hewitt asks a pertinent question: "...is it ok for an American news executive to feed anti-American propaganda machines the most incendiary of fuels for the benefit of a crowd's applause and approval?" My answer: it's not just one American news executive, Hugh - it's most of the MSM, which is why to this point there has been nothing but the sound of crickets coming from them on this topic.

Glenn Reynolds:"Having kept his mouth shut on things he knew were true, it would behoove Eason Jordan not to blather about things that he doesn't know are true. Really."

More at Captain's Quarters.

This can only get bigger as the MSM continues its meltdown.

There is always good news from Iraq. To paraphrase T.S. Lawrence, one must simply not mind finding it.

The House Of Wheels comprehensively (as always) covers reaction to the Iraqi election on lefty's side of the blogosphere. So does Wizbang.

I have no idea who this guy is, but I agree with him in so many ways.

Lefties probably don't much care for David Frum, since he is the infamous author of the "Axis Of Evil" thing, but I've long enjoyed his writing. And yes, I liked the "Axis Of Evil" line back then and I do now; whomever the shoe fits must wear it.

The State Of The Union Speech.

The Diplomad weighs in on Dubya's string of successes and the future in Iraq. Man, that's gotta chafe. And he also has an update on Fun With The UN In Tsunamiland.

"PARIS (Reuters) - Iran has conducted successful experiments on a crucial triggering mechanism for a nuclear weapon, an exiled opposition group said on Thursday."
Iran is run by guys who want to kill you and me and our families and our way of life, and everyone else who isn't truly, madly, deeply insane for Allah. Tehran "dismisses the accusations and says its atomic ambitions are limited to the peaceful generation of electricity." Just like North Korea. Yah, that's the ticket...

And I'm Santa Claus.

I like Roger Simon because he came to his senses and now has it sussed.

No-one expects the Instapundit or Junkyard Blog. Read it all.

Oil-For-Fraud
"According to investigating commission chairman Paul Volcker, the probe showed that between 1998 and 2001, Benon Sevan 'repeatedly solicited,' on behalf of a company called African Middle East Petroleum, several million barrels of oil worth about $1 million." I've yet to even look for a sober and reliable ('fair and balanced' ?) analysis of the numbers, which is probably weeks down the road. Everything I know Is Wrong has some initial findings.

And I love Kofi's tribute to Claude Raines, that he was "shocked, shocked! to discover there is gambling at Rick's Cafe."

Iraqi quagmire, my finger.

More Chrenkoff.

Just when I think I've heard the stupidest thing ever, the DU keeps right on talking.
Ain't Janeane a peach? Is this why lefties love Air America?

Joe Lieberman is a traitor! Kill Joe Leiberman!

Victor Davis Hanson reviews the twenty-first century thus far. And it ain't pretty for lefties.
Add to that Junkyard Blog's illumination of the left's political, emotional and spiritual poverty.

Little Green Footballs.

This stuff just keeps coming and coming: AP Blows Another Iraq Story

It was almost painful (actually, no it wasn't) watching Rumsfeld embarrass Tim Russert over the Soldier's Question Caper. Man against boy. And to follow that up with Ted Kennedy? Wow.

Captain's Quarters alerts us to the same old same old from the Palestinians.

Interesting to see Larry Kudlow address the Eason Jordon disaster on his blog. I hope this virus spreads into the MSM.

Paul Krugman is still and will always be all wet.

"If Theo van Gogh hadn't been killed, he'd doubtless already be working on Submission Part Two, a short film set backstage at a European film festival about a Western culture so reflexively craven that nothing can rouse it to defend itself. Submission Part Three will be about the first Muslim woman to have her unemployment benefit cut for refusing a job as dominatrix in a Frankfurt bondage dungeon."
~ Canadian uberjournalist Mark Steyn.

More Fun With The UN. But hey, they mean well. And they're morally superior to the U.S.

It's not America they hate, it's just Dubya.
